glad to see you

thanks to all who have already joined; spread the word.
a little bit about me:
my name is emily, i'm 18, and i'm a sophmore at emerson college. i am a vegetarian- not vegan until they make better tasting vegan cheese. i, personally, do not own any leather or fur, and also am on the lookout to never purchase clothing that was manufactured in sweatshops. i'm a designer clothes/couture fiend (though its a surface obsession, not a purchase obsession), and have grown to love designers that choose to use fake fur and leather instead of the real deal (marc jacobs <3). i'm glad to see that there is already people interested in being intelligent and caring consumers. there is a way to keep your morals in a capitolist world.
thanks again, and keep posting!

hey i just joined. but havent made my entry post yet i was just curious if there were specific companies you stay away from because of sweatshops..or others you shop from more often because they dont. thanks
one that i learned about recently that made me happy was the mecca of H&M... they adimantly oppose sweat shop labor and pay all their manufacturers an international minimum wage...and still manage to make their clothing more than affordable!
i hate to tell you this but Marc Jacob's purfumes are tested on animals. He has *definetly* also used fur in his collections before... and i'm pretty sure his shoe range works with leather. his designs are pretty awesome though
